So, it has been somewhat of an interesting past week. I have stilll been fighting this stupid cold/sinus infection, which has made training for my half pretty unbearable. Who wants to run next to a girl on a treadmill who is endlessly hacking up a lung? That being said, obviously I didn't get my 7 mile run in last weekend, which was fine since I had a visitor here from Colorado (long story-but was part of why my week was so interesting). I did get a couple of shorter runs in this week, but I didn't realize how much NOT running was affecting my attitude. Bad mood Blaire over here for the past couple weeks...sorry to my friends, family and co-workers. None of it was your fault. This girl just needs workouts apparently. I did FINALLY feel well enough to pump out 8 miles this past Saturday (and at just under a 10 minute mile!! Whoopieee!!!). I felt like a completely new person...happy and accomplished. To me, there isn't much that feels better than feeling like you hit a goal after you've worked your butt off for it.
I set this half-marathon goal of running it in 2 hours or less. Needless to say, that is probably going to have to be adjusted thanks to the limited training I've been able to do over the past 4 weeks. Another bummer is that my incredibly-blessed-with-a-running-ability sister had to pull out. We were going to run it together, which was awesome for me because she pushes me and kind of sets the pace for our runs. Then we got the unexpected news that she's expecting her first baby! Which means I'm going to be an aunt in September! Yayyy!!! (I've already started looking for clothes...I promise to spoil it, hype it up with sugar when it's of age, and buy really loud toys, Allie..k??:)). So, back to the topic at hand, I do not begrudge in any way Allie having to back out of the race, and while it does suck to not have a running partner (stillll think you should join me for part of it Em:)), I'm determined to finish it and finish strong. And to get my training back on track, sick or not sick, so that I'm a happier person. Speaking of running and being fit, Madonna
ROCKED OUT the halftime show at the Super Bowl last night. Best halftime show I've seen in years for sure. Everyone at the party was in complete agreement so I know I'm not alone! She looked amazing and can still go hard...and she's 53.
Inspiration??
I think so.

BG
P.S. Yeaaaa Giants!!
